Hermle Clock Works
Every clock, no matter what its style, is driven by some form of clock movement. Some of these are digital, others quartz, and some use weights and pendulums to keep time. But no clock movement is of a better quality than those produced by Hermle.
Hermle Clocks Works: A Guide
The Hermle Clock Company was founded by Franz Hermle, an independent clock manufacturer, in 1922. The company was, and still is, based in the Black Forest region of Germany, an area known for its long tradition of clock-making. After its founding, it only took ten years for the Hermle company to catapult its name to international fame: they were known the world over for being one of the most progressive and resourceful manufacturers of clock works in the clock industry,
Before long, Hermle had contracts with all kinds of different clock makers, and supplied many of them with top quality clock movements. For instance, Hermle clock works were found in clocks made by Seth Thomas, Howard Miller, Sligh and Ridgeway. But the Hermle company didn't stop there: they also designed and produced their own wall, mantel and table clocks.
Franz Hermle died in 1953, but he left his business to his four sons, Gebhard, Alfred, Hans and Heinrich Hemle. Determined to carry on what their father had begun, they have devoted their lives to the expansion of the Hermle Clock Company, and today they export clock movements to more than 100 different countries. So even now, Hermle clock works can be found ticking away time in clocks throughout the world. 1Stop-Grandfather-Clock-Sales.com is proud to offer clocks that carry on this fine tradition.
